Term 1, Week 7 (16 Feb 09)

No Loitering After School (IN! pg 7)
Q1) Why Coral Secondary School forbids students to idle around near their school in their school uniform?
Q2) Do you agree with this rule? Explain your answer.

Answers:
Q1) The school forbids their students to do that for their well-being of the school. They are worried that if they do something bad in their uniform, they could ruin the schools reputation. They also want their students to go home straight so that they don't waste their time loitering and use that time for better use, like studying and doing their homework. They are also worried that their students might disturb the residents near by and they don't want any complaints to go to the school.
Q2) No, I do not agree with this rule. I have friend studying in that school. He said that they can't even go to Mcdonald's in White Sands Mall or any other food join near by to buy take out food as sometimes when he gets home, he has no lunch to eat or even when he needs to stay back after school, the canteen vendors don't have much food left to sell. The rule is just unfair and not reasonable. We used to be in the same primary school and they applied the same rule, but we were stll able to buy some food at the near by shopping centre. Even going to the library to study needs consesnt from the Operation Manager or the Discipline Mistress. The teachers should atleast allow them to quickly go and buy their food quickly and leave. Even some parents don't agree with this rule.

Term 1, Week 6 (9 Feb 09)

Master of One (Life! People pg 4)
Q1) What was Jack Neo’s vocation when he was serving the nation?
Q2) “Hard work leads to success.” To what extend do you agree with this statement?

Answers
Q1)While Jack Neo was serving the nation, his vocation was a quartermaster, then to a platoon commader at an infrantry unit, he was posted to the Singapore Armed Force's Music and Drama Company. His job was to write scripts and train actors. He taught people at Music and Drama Company, during the time when the TV Station was stilled called Radio Television Singapore.
Q2)I agree deeply to that saying. If u put in 100% effort to anything, you will succeed and probably be the best. It's like studying 2 weeks before an exam. When the exam comes, you will be very prepared and past it with flying colours or top the class. I would follow that saying but being me, someone who slacks alot, it is very hard to put in hard work. Though I still do quite good with less effort. I know that I can do alot better
